Even though the day started out on a bad note it was my most favorite of the vacation. I changed Ruth's diapers in the pick up cause it was about the only semi clean spot. After she was clean I shut the door (so she wouldn't fall out) and threw the diaper away. In the moment I was gone she hit the lock button. And the keys were sitting on the dash.........
We tried everything to get her to hit the unlock button but to no avail. She just kept hitting the lock button over and over. At least she was happy and the pick up was in the shade. She was munching on an apple and laughing at us trying to get her out. At least she thought it was funny! A lock smith was called and $55 later she was out.
Dena has family that lives in Canon Beach so we decided to drive up there to visit them and play at that beach. It took about 2 1/2 hours to drive up there. Highway 101 which goes the whole length of the Oregon Coast is a very curvy one lane highway. So not the fastest travel but it sure is a gorgeous drive. It was a great way to see the variety of the Oregon coast scenery.
The weather was fabulous and I learned later, a rare blessing. The sun was shining, the wind not too fierce and the temperature perfect. There was a light mist coming off the ocean that made it seem eire in a pleasant way. I love the random majestic rocks that jut out all along the coast.
We played like crazy all day. The water wasn't as unbearably cold as everyone said. And minus Rooster we all got wet and kept going back for more. Of course there was lots of sand play and the moms made a pretty nice castle. We came prepared with food and stayed until we were all wiped out. We all slept really well that night!

ahhh Canon Beach! I walked that beach when I was engaged to Darrec. That is where by good friend Ruth grew up (Astoria). What a blast. Wish I could Apperate there.
