The End

December 27, 2015 - January 2, 2016

Sunday, 12.27
It made me happy to see the kids using the Sunday box before and after church.

Jane was still sicky and we didn't want her to go to nursery. She stayed with me 2nd hour and then Kurt 3rd hour. She fell asleep for him and slept on the floor in his office. I picked her up before sacrament meeting and laid her down on the pew in front of the kids. She slept through all of sacrament meeting just like that. Poor girl, praying she gets better before we leave!

All kinds of play dough creating going on that evening with the play dough Emma made for the little girls.

I love my men in these shirts designed by Roger. Great design, perfect message, worthy goals.

Monday, 12.28
Ponderizing this:

We had a Robotics work day that morning. The ONE purpose was to get the trash chute made and in the school so that when they went back to school it was up and ready for use. The kids will present it to the school at an assembly.

The rest of the day we finished putting away Christmas decor & cleaning. Marti and the kids stopped by that afternoon. It was good to visit and I invited the kids to spend the night. With it I also gave up the idea of completing everything on my Before-I-Leave-For-Hawaii-To-Do list. Having a constant party is much more fun anyway! That evening the kids had their Christmas piano recital at the Beck's house. This is their last hurrah with Janice as their teacher since she is having her 6th baby in January. Austin played, "Joy to the World," Emma, "Oh Come All Ye Faithful," Spencer "Angels we have Heard on High" {second verse a duet with me" and Ruth played "Jolly Old St. Nicholas." It was the first time Ruth had played in front of people. Half way through her music fell off the piano. She didn't lose composure, picked it up and started again. I was very proud of her.

We played lots of games before bed, mainly "Telastrations." We were dying over Braxton's drawings.

Tuesday, 12.29.15

There was A LOT of American Girl doll play. Lucy was SO happy to join in with her new BFF Mary Ellen. So glad the older girls included her no questions asked. Love Best Friend Cousins.

The girls and I had an appointment for pedicures that afternoon. It was our Girls-Date before Hawaii. It was also Lucy's first time to get a pedicure. They had a special little kids chair and you guessed it, she ate it up.

Kurt had bought new curtain rods for me {love that man} so with Ruth's help {she had to rip out a seam in the white sheers so they would fit through the rod} they got it all set up. It looks so GOOD.

We finished just in time for the Farnsworths arrival. PARTY in the House!! Since I finally had the craft room mostly organized we put the air mattress in there, Ethan on the couch {downstairs} and as always Lorna with Emma.

Wednesday, 12.30
Kurt and Austin left at the crack of dawn to do a baptism session at the temple. Unfortunately the 2 Delgado sisters cancelled but the Gonzales twin came. And for those 3 youth & their Branch President it was a very good experience. We can never forget that it is always about the one.

The day light hours were filled with creative cousin time. Austin helping Ethan build a paper creature, Emma and Lorna composing a song, & the dress up box.

The adults went to Nampa that evening. We needed another suitcase and I was determined to get Kurt some leather sandals to wear in Hawaii. We ate dinner at Red Robin {yum!} We came home to a very clean house - the older kids were hoping it would allow them to watch {another} movie. I really appreciated their efforts but sadly it was too late.

Thursday, 12.31
M&W donuts for breakfast, thank you Kurt!

The kids put on a circus for us. It was very entertaining, that's for sure. I love watching their creativity, especially when they all get along so sweetly. :)

In between I was packing for Hawaii, putting on fake nails, trying out my sandals and definitely getting excited.

Spencer still had his music lessons so after we got home we started the New Years Eve Party. We made home made pizzas for dinner and started our hourly-count-down activities. {As soon as that activity is over we move to the next "hour."}

5 pm: 2015 Memories Scavenger Hunt {Emma}
6 pm: Make colloquial squid {Daniel} {PS the circus face paint was NOT coming off Jane! Even after a shower, and multiple scrubbing with make up remover...}

7 pm: Goat wrestling {don't ask} {by Spencer}

8 pm: Minute to Win It Games {Austin}
At this point Ruth got mad and stormed off to her room. She refused to come out {after multiple attempts from multiple people. She ended up falling asleep -mad- in her bed. Not the most ideal way to start a new year.}

9 pm: Pictionary of 2015 events {Ethan}
10 pm: Sharing Circle - What did you learn & favorite memory from 2015 {Lucy}

 11 pm: Charades of Events from 2015 {Lorna}

 Midnight - HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! Toast with sparkling cider in plastic goblets & dancing to Abba's "Happy New Year!"

2015 you've been real. Personally can't wait to continue growing and making memories in 2016.

Read scriptures and put the little kids to bed at their normal bed time. Bravo! The girls were having a very hard time saying good-bye at bedtime. There were a lot of tears and a lot of prayers. Hopefully we will all survive this separation. Kurt and I finished the packing process. Hawaii here we come!!

SPECIAL NOTE:
Karen and Roger were suppose to arrive on Wednesday. Due to weather their flight was delayed and connecting flight missed & later flights cancelled. It was a big mess {like 8 hours at the airport.} So sorry. They didn't have another flight coming to Boise until Saturday. Thankfully Elaine was there to hold down the fort until they arrived. I know it was a lot of work to keep 9 kids happy, fed, entertained, unharmed and not at each others throats for 2 days. Thank you, THANK YOU!! I cannot say it enough, I am blessed with the best sisters.

Friday, 01.01.16
Kurt and I left for the airport at 4 am. I am attaching my Project Life pages of our trip. They are done and its the perfect way to document it.

My boys would be so proud.

 Our rental car.
The vegitation surprised me with all the lava rock and barren land. I have to remind myself, Hawaii is a volcano
 Hapuna Beach where we played till the sun went down and the waves took us down.
practicing writing upside down like our waitress.

Back at home with the Elaine the kids were racing cars.

Saturday, 01.02.16

Other pictures from the day. This is from our resort at the Hilton.

 On the drive to the zip lining

 I LOVE ZIP LINING!! One of my favorite experiences from Hawaii!

 more scenic exploring on the way back to the resort

Elaine sent me the following pictures from today. She took all the kids to Jump Time in Meridian. She is a brave lady but I understand the need to get out of the house. The kids had a great time! Thanks Elaine. Karen and Roger arrived at midnight, found Kurt's pickup and drove to Nyssa.
