The Land that I LOVE

We started out with the annual breakfast at the church. {Highlight being Ben Carpenter showing up to cook.}

Then we moved over to the park for the stick horse races and Ruth's patriotic baby contest. {Highlight being Ruth won EVERYTHING she did!}

This is Ruth after the stick horse race (she got a prize bag with bubbles and other goodies but the bubbles were enough to make her happy forever. Later she won a book for her age division.)

We made a quick costume change for her Patriotic Baby Contest.

Isn't she ADORABLE!

The theme this year is "Catch the pioneering spirit." We used Emma's colonial days dress (thanks mom!) and I added a simple flag to her apron and fabric strips for bows. She was the only one who stood on the stand without their parents. Ahhh, she's cute! And what's even better is that Madison won in her age division! The Romans' family may not have a lot of athletic ability (remember the Hershey track meet???) but we sure are CUTE! Ruth got a big bag of prizes for winning that contest. She was on a roll today!

The other kids did have fun too. :)

We met up at the pool in the afternoon for some water fun. I stayed in the baby pool to hide from the sun. I was lucky cause some super cute girls hung out with me.

We came home for a delicious dinner and sparklers.
We are a blessed people.
God bless America, the land that I love.

Ruth is SO cute!!! I love that she stood on the stage all by herself. She is getting so big. And a double high five for someone in our family actually winning something! (in reference to the track meet...)

This is Halloween Nite!
