Another Condition

I took Ruth into the Doctor Saturday afternoon. Her skin was red and blotchy, raised, itchy and very irritated. It was on her arms and neck in the areas exposed to the sun almost like a sunburn except she hadn't been in the sun enough to get burned or had been wearing sun screen. The same thing had happened on Monday so I was concerned especially since she was so uncomfortable and not able to sleep well. It turns out she has hives to sun exposure. Photodermitatis. My daughter is allergic to the sun. Or more accurantly the UV rays of the sun. After talking to people and reading about it the best treatment is to stay out of the sun, wear a hat and long sleeves. Sun screen is not enough. This will be interesting.
