New Year's Eve

That morning Sam, Tim, Karen, mom and I raided the local Distribution and DI center (good deals to be found at both.) At noon we met up with Kurt and the kids at Chuck E. Cheese. That is always a fun place. Thanks Kurt for wanting to take everyone!

Not to worry they get happier.

After lunch we rushed back to grandma's to grab enough warm clothes for everyone and then caught the train going to SLC. Just riding the train alone was a huge hit.

We went straight to temple square and the visitor center.

I love taking the kids to the Visitor Center and being able to explain and testify. It is a special place.

I bought Austin a Book of Mormon earlier that day to help him accomplish his goal to read the Book of Mormon before he is baptized next year. He was intrigued by all the different languages the Book of Mormon is in.

We went home to start our New Year's Eve party planned by Sam and Tim. They did a fabulous job - we had a great time! It's amazing what some preparation will do. Thanks guys!

First game was Christmas bingo for the kids (notice Spencer inhaling his M&M's the moment he won!)

Followed by 2 Truths and a Lie. I generally dislike this game but they managed it well and it was enjoyable. Kudos.

Then Charades depicting events from 2009 (Tim was the brain child of this one so there were a lot of sports events that I had no clue about. At least Karen had a good excuses about being out of the country.) btw I do a great Patrick Swayze reenactment.

Grandpa was always good to enlist help from the kids (here they are depicting Michael Phelps' drug use.)

Then we headed out to the garage for a pinata.
Kurt held the pinata up with a broom. Naturally he was very silly (and so are the pictures that follow. You've been warned. But personally they're some of my favorites because they are so animated.)

You better watch out or the pinata might attack you!

Then my dad started to chase the pinata holder (Kurt) around with the stick trying to beat him! Hilarious!

On Spencer's next turn his followed Grandpa's example and tried to whack the pinata holder, too! LOL - great times!

And most importantly as far as pinata are concerned we finally got some candy.

We ended our party with sparklers and poppers outside on the patio.

Wishing you a healthy, happy, productive, and positive 2010. Great things await!
